February 13th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s Eastern Lakes State governor, Gen. Mangar Buong has opened the first session for the Eastern Lakes State Transitional Legislative Assembly (ELSTLA) in an open air after some months in recess.

Speaking during the opening session of the assembly, Gen. Buong said it is a great opportunity for him to send a message to the people of Eastern Lakes to enlighten them about the peace agreement signed last year.

“It is under your prerogatives to sensitize our people on that agreement and to confirm to them unwavering commitment of the SPLM party in delivering services to them as their dividends of liberation such that they remain supportive to their party forever and ever,” he said.

“I am happy to be here today [at] the opening [session] of ELSTLA after an overdue of recession. I want to tell you members of August House on behalf of my executive [about] the outstanding bills that I will soon present before this House for final endorsement and I will be glad for these bills endorsed into laws” he added.

For his part, the speaker of the parliament praised the cooperation between the parliament and the government.
