September 8th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny will tomorrow Monday visit Juba, an opposition official allied to him said Sunday.
Machar who is the First Vice-President designate will be accompanied by the newly appointed Sudanese Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok and ten other unnamed officials.
“Yes His Excellency the Chairman and Commander in Chief will travel to Juba tomorrow to meet President Salva Kiir Mayardit and discuss the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement,” the official told the Nyamilepedia from the Sudanese capital Khartoum.
“He will take ten other people with him and he will be accompanied by Prime Minister Dr. Abdalla Hamdok,” the official added.
The regional body, IGAD, which mediated the revitalized peace agreement had sought to organize a face-to-face meeting in the past between President Salva Kiir and Machar in Addis Ababa and Khartoum.
However, those efforts ended in jeapardy after Kiir insisted that he will not meet Machar outside South Sudan because security situation had improved citing presence of other opposition groups in Juba.
