September 9th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny this morning has met his peace delegates in Juba to brief them about yesterday’s face-to-face meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, an opposition official said Tuesday.
Machar along with deputy chairperson of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo – better known as Hemeti –arrived in Juba on Monday evening to discuss with Kiir the stalled implementation of the revitalized peace agreement the two signed last September.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this morning, an opposition official said from Juba that Machar had briefed them about the face-to-face meeting and the way forward.
“He met us and he briefed us about the face-to-face meeting which took place between him and president Kiir yesterday,” the official told the Nyamilepedia on condition of anonymity from Juba.
