February 18, 2022 — South Sudan’s Former Deputy Minister of Defense and Veteran affairs Dr. Majak D’Agot slammed the comment made by Senior Presidential Advisor, Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk.
This comes less than a day after former Defense Minister and Veteran affairs Kuol Manyang Juuk urged President Kiir in an exclusive interview on Tuesday demanding President Kiir to relinquish power and go home so that his Liberation legacy is not strained.
Dr. Majak, a senior SPLM member and a former bodyguard to president Kiir, downplayed Kuol’s commend saying if someone wants to retire from politics he shouldn’t make noise about it but instead he should just retire silently like many others did.
“.. When I often hear of these declarations by Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk, that it’s time to go home, I wonder what is he still waiting for”, Dr. Majak asked in a tweet obtained by Nyamilepedia.
“When we become infirm, we leave the stage because we are unfit to discharge public authority”, he added.
D’Agot said Gen. Manyang should retire quietly like veteran politicians such as Abel Alier and Elijah Majok.
