Oct 12, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — A delegation of Sudan’s Third Front met the South Sudan’s First Vice President and the leader of the SPLM/A-IO Dr. Riek Machar Teny in his office in the capital, Juba.
During the Sudanese authority thanked Dr. Machar and the South Sudanese for their role in mediating their comprehensive peace agreement that is now gaining momentum.
“H.E. First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, met with the Third Front of the Sudanese opposition group that signed the Peace Agreement recently with the Sudanese government.” Said Machar’s office last Friday.
“They thanked the South Sudanese leadership for the successful mediation of the Sudanese peace process.” He continued.
The Third Party visited Dr. Machar’s office just a day after the South Sudanese First Vice President met the the Deputy Head of Sudan’s Transitional Military Council, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
“The First Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, and the Deputy Head of Sudan’s Transitional Military Council, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, generally referred to as Hemetti, discussed peace for the two Sudans on Wednesday in Juba.” Machar’s office report on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
According to the Press office of the First Vice President, the two leaders shared notes on a wide range of issues pertaining to the implementation of the peace agreement (R-ARCSS) in South Sudan, as well as implementation of the recently signed Sudanese peace agreement in Juba.
The meeting was also attended by the Soutrh Sudan chief mediator, Hon. Tut Gatluak Manime who later on briefed the media.
Following the meeting with Dr. Machar, Tut and his Secretary General Dr. Dhieu Mathok travelled to Khartoum for further disucssions with the Sudanese stakeholders who are expected to resume talks on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
