August 19, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s armed opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, thanks his forces, the people of greater Equatoria, the United Nations and the government of DR Congo for a successful evacuation from Juba to Kinshasa amid intense violence.

According to his spokesman, James Gatdet Dak, the First Vice President of a Transitional government that has now collapsed, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, deeply appreciates the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or MONUSCO, a United Nations peacekeeping force in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Congolese government under the leadership of Joseph Kabila for cordial arrangements that safely landed him in Kinshasa on August 17, 2016.

“The First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO), thanked the United Nations mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo, or MONUSCO, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), under the leadership of His Excellency President Joseph Kabila, for their hospitality by airlifting him and his officials from the South Sudan-DRC border and for taking good care of him and his officials in the DRC.” Said James Gatdet Dak, the press secretary of Dr. Machar.

Machar thanks his protection unit, military generals and other gallant forces for having fought successfully against hundreds of thousands of well-equipped government troops that intended to kill Machar and his senior generals.

“Dr. Machar also issued a congratulatory message to the gallant forces of the SPLA-IO who have fought successfully in self-defence since July 8, 2016, attack by President Salva Kiir’s forces in the attempt to murder him at the Presidential Palace in Juba.” said Machar’s spokesman, James Gatdet.

According to James Gatdet Dak, Machar is exhausted after spending 40 days walking on foot while fighting off aggression, however, he assures that the chairman is responding well to medical support and he will address the media in the next few days.

“Despite being “exhausted” after staying in the bushes and walking on foot for 40 days, he is very fine and he has assured that he will soon speak to the media in the next few days, and particularly as he is establishing contacts with the leaderships of IGAD, AU and the UN to communicate his views on the current situation in the peace process.” Dak said.

Gatdet assures that Dr. Machar will soon be on transit to IGAD member states in the region where he will address issues relating to South Sudan’s Peace Agreement.

The armed opposition believes that their leader, Machar, is still the legitimate First Vice President of the country.

They argue that Machar was not officially replaced within the party and Taban Deng Gai no longer represents the movement after he was compromised by the regime.

Many politicians in Machar’s camp argue that Taban was bribed by President Salva Kiir’s leadership to instigate a coup in the opposition for him to be rewarded Machar’s position in return.

With exception of Gen. Taban Deng Gai and a few others, many politicians of SPLM-IO believes that Machar narrowly escaped an assassination plan in the capital, Juba.

His young son, one of the bodyguards, was killed on July 8th fighting at presidential compound in Juba.

Insiders’ reports speculate that at least 37 bodyguards of Dr. Machar were killed among the 300 people that perished on July 8th at the palace.

Many other soldiers and civilians were killed between July 10th and 11th before Machar tactically withdrawn from Juba after the two principles declared a ceasefire to break the fighting on the evening of July 11th.

More intense fighting continued around Juba for the last 40 days as government forces pursued Machar with helicopters, tanks and heavy artillery.

No one knows the total number of casualties but the results of continued fighting are devastating. According to BBC reports the military hospital in Juba is accommodating more than 1000 patients, mostly wounded soldiers from the recent battles around the country.

The fighting has forced many diplomats and foreigners to flee the country, worsening the economic situation of a country that depends on foreign imports and oil revenue.

You are welcome my 1st VP Dr. Machar, I hope you will declare fight this time and provide weapons. KIIR Kuethpiny needs talking of bullets. If you will talk only about peace without military equipment than Dinka will be right when saying you can not fight

WW III through Networks and that is the same John Garang had done. Why he ran away than apology, apologized to get another chance. I think intellectual needs to think of their own people and others too. Old Sudan was only for themselves, too obese and die too young. Change is needed.

If you remember a few month back Torbaar I did say the tribal regime will try killing Machar since he escape the 2013 assassination attempt. This is how serious I know they want Machar. On the other hand they might not necessarily want him dead at the very moment because Machar is their best excuse to continue chaos which allows them to rule and postpone election claiming instability. So its either Machar declares a full scale war or he should just join the advisory board of some organization like Nuer councils or whatever.
Machar can come back to Juba as many time as the world can endorse but Jaang will not be tired of playing along till they murder him senselessly. This would be the 3rd time they will try to kill him or pretent they are going to kill him by staging a scary show and yet either way the application of order out of chaos formula will effectively be achieved by Jaang..

its a simple formula that works wonders to those who choses to rule through fear and intimidations. Leaders in the democratic society uses this all the time and dictators practice this formula religiously. Terrorists of all types would never be so many or spread out like wild fires around the world had it not been for the application of controlled policy of order out of chaos.

GatNor,

And Jaang may succeed in their fourth attempt on Machar’s life. If this guy continue talking peace, I’ll resign from IO and just quit supporting any political organization. Machar has brought shame to Nuer nation, we’ve become a laughing stock in the eye of Jaang. For God sake I don’t recall in Nuer history where Dinka raid us, castrate our boys, raped and abduct our women and uproot us from our land. It can never get anymore painful than it’s and only a good fight will reverse our lost pride, dignity and confident.

Thanks Hoiloom, you have said the truth of it. I encourage you not to give up support as the journey has just began and its a tough one. I think the journey or the little adventure of Nuer sons and daughters is just another phase of many parts and series of conquests within the home front.

Having said that, the potential war leaders are there but hierarchy and or seniority issues demanded by Nuer culture and modern day organization structures dictates adhering to; as slow and stagnant it seems due to too many senior Nuer leaders becoming stale and more of a liability than assets, it must be respected and followed for one reason or the other.

One of those reasons would be the destructive consequences of Nuer dividing into too many less effective fronts which is not necessary and will be harder to sale the objective to the highest bidders and will also take longer to reach the end goal.

At this point the councils of Nuers should approach all the seasoned, tested and tried potential Nuer war generals to form a coalition of generals for the purpose of defending Nuer interest on the ground..to draw out a blue print on how to utilized the existing vas manpower of Nuers that is slowly being wastefully exhausted by Jaang. I mean it is already being exhausted by Jaang, so why not put it to good uses that benefits Nuers.

Nuer politicians can continue with their Jaang counter parts in their dubious fruitless diplomatic games while the generals on the ground influences and strengthen the negotiation positions of the diplomatic team territorial dominant.

In my opinion the country is plunging further deep into more wars that will end up confederating South Sudan and should that happen these two main teams of generals and diplomats can easily form a confederation or assert their dominant by taking absorbing any territory that is friendly or thats within their reach and power of grasp. The Jaang are already doing the same thing cloaked as South Sudan government. So why not start displacing them to hell in order to acquire more territories. If anything, the Jaang have already put Nuers through hell first if one recalls the many incidents of ethnic cleansing and mass displacement of Nuers in their millions.

Now some might ask where is the rationale in this in regards to the South Sudan unity, peace and stability. My answer is neither peace or unity really exist in South Sudan. Any claims of such’s existent is more or less a utter dishonesty that would raise other questions as to the claimant’s other agenda to support such lies.

The question is what do Nuers have to lose that they are not losing already should they(Nuers) starts entertaining their Nuer interest and Nuer interest alone? peace? it exists not. Unity? but with who? Jaang? that also seems its not what Jaang wants. so..
