July 22, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan’s First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, calls on President Salva Kiir to relieve the Minister of Mining Taban Deng Gai with “immediate effect”.
The first vice president recalls the Minister of Mining as stipulated in a Peace Agreement the two leaders signed in August last year.
Dr. Machar boldy states the order, which comes to effect on the date of its signing, somewhere in unknown location outside the capital, Juba.
“In exercise of the my powers, as The First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, as per the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan, Article 6, I hereby withdraw and recall Gen. Taban Deng Gai as Minister of Mining in the Transitional Government of National Unity as from today, July 22nd, 2016” The First Vice President States.
“I am asking Your Excellency to relieve him with immediate effect” he continued.
Machar promises Kiir that he will nominate Taban’s replacement as soon as he returns to the capital once security is established.
“I will nominate his replacement as soon as I return to Juba once the security arrangement is put in place by a third party force as per the comminique of the IGAD Council of Ministers meeting in Nairobi, on 11th, July 2016” Machar said.
In a similar commitment, president Salva Kiir assured a group of Nuer loyal politicians this week that he won’t replace the First Vice President as claimed, a statement which critics believe was made for media consuption.
In other reports, Mr. Kiir has given his First Vice President upto 48 hours since Thursday to return to Juba or else risk untold consequences.
Machar has repeatedly restated that he won’t return to the capital until the deterrent force is establish to act as a buffer zone between his forces and those of president Salva Kiir.

I think the issue of security in capital Juba is major concern because 99% of SPLM IO members are in Juba at moment.

Congratulations to General Taban Deng for succeeding Riek Machar.
Members of the SPLMIO political bureau have spoken. Their Democratic move to point Taban Deng as their acting vice president representing them in the transitional government until Riek Machar come is irreversible. The president has no jurisdiction to fire Mr Deng Gai since he belongs to the opposite party and Riek Machar should know that fact.
