Dr. Lam says SPLM has delivered only war and corruption, cannot win free and fair elections.

Khartoum, Sudan

October 17,2021—The Chairman of the National Democratic Movement, Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin strongly believes the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) has only delivered war, impunity and corruption in its 16 years of ruling the country and as such its proponents should give up hopes of winning credible elections.

According to Dr. Lam Akol, the SPLM has been in the helm of power for almost 20 years but has achieved nothing so far but war and corruption and as such they cannot hope to win a transparent, free and fair election.

In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Dr. Lam says the ruling party, which has been harboring ethnic conspiracies and several scandals, deserves no room in the forthcoming elections.

“.. A party in power for 16 years with no record in service delivery to the people, only corruption and civil wars, has no chance in a free and fair election”, Dr. Lam tweeted.

The prominent opposition figure said that ” living on the past has limit” and the time is now for the SPLM elites to consider losing power to other parties.

According to Dr. Lam, even the mud fish (Luth) eat its tail for survival only once, which the SPLM has already done.

Dr. Lam Akol, who is a founding member of the SPLM/A, was one of the first senior members of the SPLM/A to jump out of the SPLM boat in 1991 and has remained independent since; however, he has been struggling with isolation as the SPLM elites try to keep him out of South Sudan political arena.

Dr. Lam is a signatory to the current Revitalized Peace Agreement but he is written off in its implementation.
