March 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A sharp dispute has emerged between South Sudanese students who are studying in China under government scholarship over money donated by the minister of petroleum who was in China this week, sources have told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon.
One students source in Beijing, the Chinese capital, told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon that the Minister of Petroleum, Amb. Ezekiel who was in China last week paid the South Sudanese embassy in Beijing $5,000 for students’ activities in China but were later diverted by few individuals who were informed first by the embassy.
“The Minister of Petroleum visited China few days ago. During his visit, the embassy was given $5,000 for South Sudanese students studying here in China. The money was supposed to be put towards elections,” the source told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.
“However, instead of using it to organize elections, a small group of individuals that arrived at the embassy yesterday divided it up among themselves and left $1,000 for the elections,” the source added.
Another source said the South Sudan “embassy is the one that is responsible because they decided to give away what belong to many people to a small group of individuals who do not represent us as a students.”
