Sep 21, 2021—Reports from the Blue House, the national security headquarters, confirmed that the former Northern Bahr el Ghazal state Governor, Hon Kuel Aguer Kuel, has been admitted at the hospital as his health was found to have deteriorated over the days he spent in prison.
Kuel ‘s daughter Ms. Atap Kuel Aguer said her dad has been allowed to seek medication outside prison and has been admitted at Juba Medical Complex under custody and surveillance of the National Security.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, Atap Kuel says her father was taken to hospital on Friday and diagnosed with liver problem.
“Yesterday they took him to hospital and he was on oxygen, and they got that he is having liver problem until now he is still in hospital”, Atap Aguer told Eye Radio in Juba on Sunday.
Atap added that the health condition of her father becomes critical to the extent that her dad couldn’t walk alone anymore.
“His health is not that good seriously and he cannot walk yesterday they were carrying him”,she said.
According to the medical report, the former governor is allegedly suffering from high blood pressure and Liver problem.
Atap Kuel Aguer appeals to the government to free their father and take him to court for trial.
Kuel was arrested in early August by security operatives for being a signatory to Declaration of People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA), a civil society activists group advocating for a regime change through popular uprising in the country.
The former Governor Kuel spent at least one month and a half in the detention facility without any legal proceedings despite his poor health conditions.
