Deputy Minister of Information sworn in

Nov 6, 2021 — The deputy minister of Information, Communication, Technology and Postal Services, Hon Dr Jacob Mayaiju Baba Korok, is officially sworn IN to deputize Hon. Michael Makuei Lueth in the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity replacing Hon. Baba Medan Konyi.

Done at the presidential headquarters at J1, the swearing was conducted by Justice Ayak-der Kom Awan of supreme Court and witnessed by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, Minister of National Security Hon. Gen. Obuto Mamur Mete, Minister of Information and Communication Technology and Postal Services Hon Michael Makuei Lueth, Deputy Executive Director in the Office of the President Hon Thiik Kiir Mayardit and the community elders of Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

“The swearing-in ceremony was administered in the Office of the President by Justice Ayak-der Kom Awan of supreme Court.” Reads part of the statement from J1. 

Hon. Dr. Jacob M. Korok, replaces Hon. Baba Medan Konyi as the Deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Postal Services, who was sacked through a presidential decree on October 19, 2021.

While both Korok and Mr. Konyi come from the same Pibor Administrative Area, Konyi barely serve one year and seven months.

Whereas these officials are fired and sworn in through the state owned television no justifications are given for the firing and for reappointment.
