August 23, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — As part of a controversy that has flared on for weeks, the Archbishop of the Diocese of Bor, Reuben Akurdid, hints that he may officially retire if reinstated.

Archbishop Akurdid, who was defrocked from duty on August 14, 2020 allegedly for dividing christians among other disobedience charges, urges the Most Rev’d Dr. Justin Badi to reinstate him so that he can give out certificates and confirm new dioceses before he retires.

“For situations to normalized, it’s upon Badi; to reinstated me as Archbishop of Jonglei Internal Province, to confirm the new dioceses, gives them certificates then I will accept to go for retirement ” Akurdid Ngong Akurdid

For the last one week, Archbishop Akurdid has been on the news both in South Sudan and on VOA refuting his dismissal and attempted to fight back; however, Dr. Badi and his leadership failed to compromised citing that they have prayed enough to try to help the outgoing archbishop.
