April 2nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The defense lawyer for detained civil rights advocate, Peter Biar Ajak, has continued to maintain the innocence of his client saying Peter Biar was innocent when he was arrested and he is still innocent.

Philip Anyang Ngong, Biar’s lawyer, who revealed that witnesses for the prosecution testified on Monday told reporters following the hearing that his client is still innocent and that he believed that the evidences presented lack concrete grounds and seems to be fabricated.

“The evidence were not enough and don’t make sense. And with this, it shows that these are fabricated charges against Peter [Biar]. He was innocent and is still innocent,” he said.

Biar who is a government critic, was arrested at Juba International Airport in late July last year while leaving for a Red Army function organized in Northern Bahr Al-Ghazal state capital Aweil.

He since remained in a national security detention without a trial.
