Defected SSUM faction says troops assembling at Nyoat in Unity State’s Mayom County

October 14th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The defecting faction of South Sudan United Movement and Army which broke away from Gen. Peter Gatdet Yaka last month says their troops are assembling in Nyoat Payam in Unity State’s Mayom county.

The deputy Chairman and Commander in Chief of South Sudan United Movement led by Gen. Peter Gatdet Yaka defected last month accusing Gatdet of dictatorial tendency joining the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

In an exclusive interview with the Nyamilepedia, the former spokesman of Gen. Peter Gatdet Yaka, Brig. Gen. Gatkuoth Mut Turoah told the Nyamilepedia on Sunday that their troops are assembling in Nyoat Payam in Mayom county of Unity State pending intergration process which he said is starting soon.

“Now we have our forces assembling at Nyoat Payam. When they all assembled, there will be an integration process which is also starting soon,” Gatkouth told the Nyamilepedia on Sunday from Juba.

He said the forces which is already assembled at Nyoat is 803 in number and are under the command of Maj. Gen. Simon Mayiel Kulang waiting for the rest of thier colleagues without explaining where the other troops ar stationed now.

“The troops which are 803 are under the command of Maj. Gen. Simon Mayiel Kulang and they are waiting for their collagues so that the integration process is started to integrate them into the South Sudan army,” he added.
