Wani said his resignation letter has been officially approved by the board members and expressed his gratitude for the years he spent serving the organization which he believes has groomed a strong team.

“Today, Okay Africa Foundation Board of Directors officially accepted my RESIGNATION letter as the Executive Director. It was a great honour to serve in such important position and I wish the team all the best. Am so excited that over the past years, we’ve built a strong team”,Wani stated on his page.

He said, he keeps telling his friends that, the organization is a youth owned-institution rather than Wani’s organization and according to him the resignation will serve as good example to his words.

” Am walking as a PROUD young person and this is a CLEAR manifestation I kept on telling colleagues and friends that OKAY is not Wani Michael but it is an institution. I urge you to continue extending your SUPPORT to the Organization”,he added.

The vocal youth activist did not mention the reasons for his resignation and it not clear so far whether his resignation is politically motivated by his recent support to the call of People’s Coalition for Civil Action (PCCA), an umbrella group of political and civil society advocates whose aim is to topple the incumbent regime of National Unity through peaceful demonstrations or else they demand for president  Salva Kiir and the first vice president Dr. Riek Machar to step aside and hand over the power to people.

On 29th of August 2021, Wani declared a group called “Gumna Shabab” literally meant ” Youth stand up” in which he expressed his solidarity and support to the People’s Coalition for Civil Action.
