Oct 12, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — In response to a humanitarian crisis caused by floods in South Sudan, the Chinese government has donated $ 300,000 U.S. dollars to help over 800, 000 people that are currently displaced.
In a meeting with South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Beatrice Khamisa Wani on Monday, the Chinese ambassador to South Sudan Hua Ning pledged that the Chinese donation will go toward to rescuing flood victims.
Ambassador Hua said his government will continue to support South Sudan as the two countries are approaching their 10th anniversary.
“China will continue to work with South Sudan to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields as the two countries are going to celebrate the 10th anniversary of diplomatic ties,” Hua said.
Hua said the Chinese response will help over 800, 000 people who are displaced by the flood in the world’s youngest nation.
On her part, the South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister Beatrice Khamisa Wani appreciated the Chinese government for the good gesture.
Khamisa pledged that South Sudan is committed to strengthen the ties between the two countries.
