June 25th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of opposition Federal Democratic Party (FDP), Gabriel Changson Chang, who is previously the leader of the opposition umbrella, SSOA, is meeting members of the Murle community in Juba over the implementation of South Sudan’s peace deal, a top aide allied to him said Tuesday.
Changson’s group is a member of the opposition consortium, South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) that signed the revitalized peace agreement – along other opposition groups – with the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit in September last year.
Speaking to the Nyamilepedia on Tuesday, Wazir Michael Liah, the group’s secretary of information and official spokesperson said the prominent opposition leader is meeting the Murle community in the capital Juba.
He said the one-day meeting is aimed at enlightening the community about the ongoing steps being undertaken by the parties to the agreement to achieve peace in the young African nation.
“The Political Bureau of the FDP is in a meeting enlightening the Murle community in Juba about the ongoing implementation of the revitalized peace agreement,” Liah said adding that the meeting that is chaired by Changson himself “is a one-day function that is now being conducted at South Sudan Hotel” in the capital Juba.
