Alarmed by the heated tensions between the two communities, governor Adil appealed for “love”, reminding the communities that they are all South Sudanese and therefore they should love one another.

“I urges you to peacefully co-exist with your brothers who have been displaced by natural disasters in Jonglei or anywhere in South Sudan. All of you are South Sudanese and should love each other,” Said the governor of Central Equatoria State during his visit to Mangala today.

Anthony appleaded to the Chiefs and other local leaders to unite the communities and preach peace, unity and togetherness.

“Your chiefs should unite you for peace, unity and togetherness in their various areas of assignments as directed by the national government,” Gov. Adil said.

Despite, the government urged the IDPs from Jonglei State to respect boundaries and only stay within a geographically define area as instructed.

“strictly observe total discipline over the dimensions of the demarcated areas given to you within the specified period of time.” Anthony said.

The CES also called on the Bari and Mundari communities to also forgive one another, reconcile and live together in peace and harmony.

Adil has been touring the state for the past two weeks trying to calm down different tensions between rivaling communities.

The CES government also bumped up security in some areas to prevent revenge attacks and other gruesome killings like the incidents of last weeks where civilians were being kidnapped and killed by unknowned armed men.

Fleeing floods in Jonglei State, a large community has been settled in Mangala together with their cattle and other moveable property.
