March 8, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — While paying a courtesy call to president Salva Kiir on Monday morning, the governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, briefed the president on security situation in the Central Equatoria State and how his government plans to mobilize displaced persons from Jonglei State to return home.
“H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit was briefed at his official residence this Monday morning 8th March 2021, by the Governor of Central Equatoria State Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony.” Read part of a statement from President Salva Kiir office.
The governor of the Central Equatoria State also briefed the president on his new government.
“The briefing focused on the security situation of Central Equatoria State, process of the establishment of the state local government institutions and how to mobilize the displaced persons to return back home.” President Kiir’s office acknowledged.
“During the meeting, Hon. Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony applauded H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the process of the formation of the States local Governments which the Governor described as a good step to embark the people on the process of service delivery and to start rebuilding the lives of people.” The statement added.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hon. Emmanuel Adil Anthony said, he also briefed H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the challenges to do with land management in which he highlighted that some individuals have taken the law into their hands to grab land illegally.
The governor said he has been assured necessary support to address the challenges by president Salva Kiir.
Hon. Governor Emmanuel Adil said H.E. President Salva kiir Mayardit also encouraged the people to cultivate as the rainy season comes in to improve the livelihoods of the people by having enough food for consumption and business.
In regards to elements of insecurities in Central Equatoria State, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony stressed that H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit informed him that, the peace negotiations with the holdout groups particularly the group of Thomas Cirilo are ongoing in order to respect the ceasefire.
According to president Kiir’s office, Kiir has re-assured his readiness to support the people and Government of Central Equatoria State.
