June 29, 2021 – The Governor of Central Equatoria State Emmanuel Adil Anthony has warned against the dampening of garbage in the middle of the roads.
This warning comes in the wake of a massive cleaning campaign launched by Mr. Adil on Monday in Juba City Council territory.
Adil warned those who used to dump garbage in the middle of the tarmac roads saying “It is a crime. Security forces are directed to arrest anybody who continues to do this and will be dealt with according to public order, health, and environmental laws,” he said.
In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, Moulana Kalisto Lado Faustino Nyigilo Wani, the Mayor of Juba City Council assured the public that the massive cleaning campaign is a daily obligation as far as the 10th anniversary of the independence day celebrations concerned.
“We have started implementing orders and directives of the Governor immediately concerning the waste management in Juba City,” Wani said. He added: “Therefore, no more compromise of law and order.”
The mission was at the level of Central Equatoria State Government headed by Governor Adil, Ministers, Director of national Ministry of Environment, plus the Juba City Council Security Committee headed by Mayor Wani, 2 Deputies, Acting CEO of JCC, 3 Directors of Juba, Kator and Munuki block Council plus the Director of Department of Environment and Sanitation JCC, heads of police stations and sectors divisions.
