February 14, 2022 — Bul community in the Republic of Sudan condemned and dubbed the defection decision of the SPLA-IO top commander to South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) as “Selfish interest”.
This happens less than a month after a senior opposition commander Gen. Tito Biel Wich loyal to FVP Dr. Riek Machar Teny defected to SSPDF.
In a condemnation statement to media, Mr. Wel Majuet Wech Nyuon, the Chairperson of Bul Community in Sudan says they condemned in the strongest terms possible the decision taken by Gen. Tito Biel wieh, joining the SSPDF led by President Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit.
“.. Bul community in Republic of Sudan has condemned the defection of General Tito Biel Wich from Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) to Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Government (SPLM-IG)”, Bul community leader Nyuon stated in a statement obtained by Nyamilepedia.
According to the statement, the defection of Gen. Tito Biel is a clear “selfish interest”, claiming that the SPLM/A-IO has a bright and clear vision.
“..The leadership of Bul community in Sudan disown the defection of Gen. Tito Biel Wich as self-interest because the SPLM/A-IO has clear vision and mission versus SPLM-IG”, Nyuon added.
In a statement bearing signatures of the top ranking opposition Generals, Bul community reaffirms their loyalty and full commitment to the leadership of the SPLM/A-IO led by country’s First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
“.. The Bul community still stand firm in the movement of the SPLM-IO although Gen. Tito Biel Wich defected for Self-interest mission but we are still loyal and committed under the leadership of FVP Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon”, the statement added.
Gen. Tito Biel Wich defected early this month from the SPLA-IO ranks accusing the leadership of the FVP Dr. Riek Machar of losing vision and direction.
