September 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The British Ambassador to South Sudan Chris Trott has said the creation of more military and political groups complicates the conflict and undermines the ongoing peace process.
British ambassador to Juba says creation of more groups undermine peacedership of the ruling party.
Another group also said Wednesday that they have removed General Paul Malong as leader of the South Sudan United Front/Army (SSUF/A) accusing him of intransigence for refusing to reach a settlement with the government on ending the war.
“I don’t want to criticize any individual,” Trott said. “But one of the things that I have learnt in four years that I have been dealing with the peace process in South Sudan, is that there tends to be a proliferation of different groups.”
Trott believes that the formation of different groups “makes compromise become much harder because you do not know who to compromise with.”
