Jan 26, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —— After two days of intensive engagement over the release of two South Sudanese human rights activists and refugees in Kenya, who were kidnapped on Monday and Tuesday to be deported to Juba, Kenyan authorities have allowed the two officials to access legal systems in Nairobi, Kenya.

According to reports received by Nyamilepedia correspondents in Nairobi, Dong Samuel Luak and Aggrey Idri will appear in Milimani Law Courthouse, 4th floor, tomorrow at 9Am.

“There is a light now at the end of the tunnel, the two gentlemen will appear in court tomorrow at 9am, Milimani law court, 4th floor.” Reads part of the statement extended to Nyamilepedia.

The human rights lawyers, who are working on the case, are calling on South Sudanese in Nairobi, Kenya, to go to court tomorrow morning to show support for their release.

Lawyers for Amnesty International, UNHCR and their legal teams are expected to attend.

The report also indicates that US and French embassies are also expected to send in their representatives.

In violation of Kenyan constitution, International human rights and refugee rights, Kenya deported James Gatdet Dak, a South Sudanese refugee in Kenya, to his opponents in Juba late last year.

Gatdet’s deportation led to arrest of 72 Kenyans within 24 hours in rebel held areas but the armed Opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, ordered their release.

The illegal kidnapping and deportations of South Sudanese refugees have sparked criticisms within and outside Kenya shaking the foundation of democracy and freedom of speech in Kenya as election approaches.

Many Kenyan politicians have criticized the Kenyatta government for trading South Sudanese against one another and for putting Kenyans’ lives at risk in South Sudan.

Leading politicians in Kenyan’s oppositions including Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyang’o, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka and Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga have registered their disappointments with Kenyatta government’s one-sided position in South Sudan conflict.

President Uhuru and many of his supporters including the vice president William Ruto, foreign minister Amina Mohamed and some members of parliament have said very little over these unconstitutional activities at their backyard.

During Gatdet’s deportation, the Opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, called on Kenya deputy President William Ruto and Foreign Minister Amina Mohamed; however both of them failed to intervene and Machar’s spokesman was sadly deported.

For over three months now, the former spokesman James Gatdet, has remained in prison in Juba without being allowed legal access to court system or his family members and friends.
