BREAKING: Sudan’s Bashir steps down as leader of ruling party

March 1st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudanese President, Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir on Friday stepped down as the leader of the ruling National Congress Party (NCP).

The decision which pave way for Al-Bashir’s departure from the leadership of the country is the latest development in the Sudanese political landscape marred in protest since December 19.

According to the state-owned Sudan News Agency (SUNA), Mohamed Haroun, former governor of Northern Kordofan state is the new interim leader who will temporarily replace Al-Bashir until next party convention.
