BREAKING: Sudan elected new IGAD chair

November 29th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudan has been elected as the new chair of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the regional bloc said on Friday.

The IGAD secretariat tweeted this afternoon about the decision of the summit to elect Sudan as the new IGAD chair.

“The 13th Ordinary IGAD Summit of Heads of States and Government has concluded in Addis Ababa. The Summit adopted a new IGAD Structure. Sudan is the new chair of IGAD,” the IGAD secretariat said in a Tweet this afternoon.

Sudan’s Prime Minister will  now be the new IGAD chairperson.
