In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia,  Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang has welcomed the defectors and congratulates them for responding to his call.

“Thousands of congratulations to the following SSPDF officers who have defected from the SSPDF respective units along with their officers, NCOS and men and joined the SSUF/A, in response to my revolutionary call for a regime change in the country.” Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang said.

According to Gen. Buay, who has served in numerous positions in the army before joining Malong, the country needs tough and radical solutions in order to install genuine democracy.

“Our country is in a desperate situation which require tough and truly radical solution to install a genuine democratic government with people-driven permanent constitution.” Gen. Buay said.

“The situation in our country is characterized by rampant corruption, cattle raiding, revenge killing, rape, robbery, inter – communal violence, lack of freedom of expression, lack of political and democratic space and inhumane treatment of political dissidents by national security forces which the regime is incapable of handling them.” He continued.

Gen. Buay hoped that the Revitalized Peace Agreement would have resolved many crises and restore peace and stability; however, he believes that the R-ARCISS has been hijacked by the ruling elites.

“The only hope for our masses was the revitalized peace agreement which has already been sabotaged and undermined by the regime in order to further its stay in power for an indefinite period of time.” Gen. Buay said.

“I urge the rest of the SSPDF forces wherever they are to follow suit and stand with our masses who have been abandoned to unenviable fates as the regime doesn’t care of their suffering.

According to Gen. Buay, the following officers have joined their ranks and files, and he encourages others to follow suit.

  1. Lt.Col Chierey James Geeh – 4th infantry division (Unity state)

  2. Lt. Col Thon Achuilau Dong – (Lakes state)

  3. Major Chipak Karay Gai – 1st infantry Division (Renk)

  4. Capt. Nyah Wicyoak – Mayom special Operations ( Unity state)

  5. Capt Chan Deng Ring – special force ( Juba).

“Let us take advantage of general feelings of dislike among the masses towards the despotic regime” He added.
