Nov 10, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — The Secretary General of the SPLM/A in Opposition, Hon. Tingo Peter, has resigned and called out on his former chairman, Dr. Riek Machar Teny, for leadership failure.
According to two-paged resignation letter that bears his signature, Tingo narrates his disappointment on Machar including how the Chairman has handled the opposition movement as a one-man show which he believes led to other failures.
Tingo also decried how the Chairman does not respect institutions he created when it comes to decision making, reiterating that Machar has not been transparent or inclusive.
Despite his decision to resign, Hon. Tingo assures that his decision will not derail the peace implementation at the national level or in Western Bhar el Ghazal State.
Hon. Tingo Peter, who is one of the most senior SPLM/A-IO officials from Western Barh el Ghazal State has been a committed member of the SPLM/A-IO for the last seven years; however, he was not appointed during the recent arrangments in which Dr. Machar preferably appointed young and new faces to senior positions.
