Dec 7, 2016(Nyamilepedia) ——- Reports from South Sudan’s Yei River State indicate fear that forces of rebels groups under the banner of SPLA in Opposition have captured Ombachi less than 7 kilometres away from the capital, Yei.

“Our luminous forces of SPLA IO are advancing toward Yei from all directions, and we would like to call on all civilian populations including humanitarian aid workers in Yei to vacate within today.”  The Brig. Gen continued.
General Sunday said his forces have captured one armoured vehicle, 4 RPGs, 6 PKMs and 15 AK47s among other supplies
“We have captured 4 RPGs, 6 PKM and 15 AK47 with rounds of ammunitions including 1 armed vehicle.” Sunday said.
The officer claims that his forces were provoked by government attacks on their position in Lasu last week but after defeating the government forces they pursued them in two directions; one group to Congolese border and the second group toward Yei town.
DR Congo Army Detained SPLA Soldiers Fleeing Rebels Attacks
According to DR Congo authors, more than 40 South Sudan government soldiers who were pursued by the rebels into DR Congo are now arrested by the Congolese army.
Medard Mokobke Mabe, a coordinator for the Red Cross in the small town of Aba, said that South Sudanese soldiers had been detained after having crossed the border.
Valentin Ngaito, editor of a community radio station in the Congolese town of Aba, 10 km (six miles) south of the border, told Reuters that Congolese troops detained 41 South Sudanese soldiers and one police officer on Saturday after they fled a rebel assault over the frontier.
Despite that 57,000 South Sudan refugees, according to the UNHCR, have crossed the border to DR Congo due to fighting in Equatoria region, Salva Kiir government has sent delegations to DRC within the last two months to ask the Congolese government to deport members of SPLA-IO who accompanied the Commander-in-chief, Dr. Riek Machar, to DRC in August this year.
As fighting intensifies in the war-torn nation, many soldiers who are giving up have surrendered their guns to UNMISS and other rights group and sought protection.
It is yet to be confirmed if the government will make more arrangements to deport these soldiers under Congolese detention back to Juba.
In response to SPLA-IO accounts, SPLA(IG) spokesman, Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Kong, has claimed that their forces are in full control of Lasu, denying any presence of rebels in Yei River; a volatile state that has been constantly on news since July this year.
