Jan 20, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —–  South Sudan’s former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Elias Nyamlel Wakoson and the Former Minister of Education of Western Bhar el Ghazal State, Hon.Salah Salim Ismail, defect to armed Opposition, SPLM/SPLA(IO).

Ambassador Professor Nyamlel, a renowned politician, who has been critical of Salva Kiir leadership and his excessive powers joins the rebel faction under the former Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Dr. Nyamlel Wakoson strongly believes that Salva Kiir’s government is a rotten tomato.

Following unconstitutional sacking of states’ governors and military generals in early 2013, Professor Nyamlel went Public in April that year describing Salva Kiir government as a “system that is rotten to the core”.

Although Kiir sacked him immediately, Prof Nyamlel welcomed the decree and remained in the country, hoping that things would change for the better.

His latest decision to flee Juba was popularly welcomed by other politicians who also defected Salva Kiir’s system to join rebellion.

Other defected officials include Cde. Abdalla Yangu, a civil servant in the government of Western Bhar Elgazal, and Cde. Mubarak Deng Tong, a lawyer and a media practitioner from Norrthern Bhar Elgazal.

In other reports, Professor, Amb. David de Chand Ruai, the Chairman of South Sudan Democratic Front Party, has declared allegiance to SPLM/SPLA(IO).

At the time of these defections about 15 rebel officials also defected from SPLM/SPLA(IO) and returned to Juba. Some of these officials, like Hon. Gatkuoth Khor, were appointed in absentia as governors of newly created states leaving doubts on whether they were genuinely in opposition.

Not many left to suck up to Kiir anymore. Diehard position seekers mostly who soon will see that there is no point of being “honorable this or that of the dung heap”. Juba is politically dead, the economy is dead, the people are dying by the day – the only one who completely missed what is happening is Mr Kiir who will not give up until every South Sudanese has been killed or run to another country.
