March 14th, 2018(Nyamilepedia) —– Members of South Sudan’s second largest ethnic group, the Nuer, announces that its members will not participate in a national dialogue consultation meeting due over the weekend in the Ethiopian Capital Addis Ababa.
According to a statement extended to the Nyamilepedia by the Nuer Community Chairman in Ethiopia, Kiir’s “National Dialogue” is a “monologue” that does not suit the national interest nor solves the conflict since it is a dialogue among friends within the ruling SPLM.
“Nuer community  in Ethiopia Reject the National Dialogue, Run by the brutal Regime in Juba which will take on Saturday at Exum Hotel in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.” Said the chairman, Gabriel Chieng Tot.
“We see it as a monologue in stead of a dialogue, Nuer community in Ethiopia distance itself from such a move being carried out by the Jieng Council of Elders based in Juba. It is another way to blindfold the South Sudanese” Chieng added.
The Nuer Community Chairman condemns the initiative saying that it is another attempt by the Kiir-led regime to sabotage the Revitalization Process which is expected to resume very soon in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
“The Nuer Community in Ethiopia condemn the brutal mobilization used by the Dinka as tribal politics to interrupt peace process in the Country (South Sudan) or on-going Revitalization process. Nuer Community in Ethiopia, urge the community members not to join the murderous mystery mobilization, no dialogue between Nuer and Kiir’s loyalist” The Nuer chairman said.
The Nuer chairman calls on the parties to return to Addis Ababa to resume peace talks under the supervision of IGAD, TROIKA, AU and the International Community.
Mr. Chieng is not oppose to National Dialogue but he believes that a meaningful national dialogue can only be achieved when the guns are silenced.
“We urge the warring parties to return to the table first and later on the nation can dialogue when the guns are silenced” He said.
The chairman explained that his community cannot rush to join the regime led dialogue when their people are forced to concentrations camps in their own country and refugee camps in East Africa.
“The reasons why we decline to join the National dialogue are: 1- Nuer people were forced to consecrations camps within the Country under United Nation Protection camps ,Juba ,Bentiu ,Malakal,Bor and Wau  and 2-Community cannot join that meeting, because the Embassy of Republic of South Sudan oversee by Regime in Juba see Nuer people as their Number one  enemy everywhere in this world” Chieng reiterates.
