Nov 25, 2017(Nyamilepedia) —– A contingent of South Sudan’s People Defense Forces, based in Jale of Kajo Keji, has slaughtered and disfigured at least four civilians between Afro and Jale yesterday, according to recent reports from the area.
According to SPLA-IO deputy spokesman, Col Lam Paul Gabriel, the four civilians, who were slaughtered by the SPLA, include three South Sudanese and one Ugandan national.
“Yesterday the 24/11/2017 late afternoon, the government forces based in Jale (Kajo Keji) slaughtered four civilians- three(3) South Sudanese and one Ugandan from Moyo District- in between Afoji and Jale.” Said SPLA-IO deputy Spokesperson, Col. Lam Paul Gabriel.
“Two people including the Ugandan died instantly and the remaining two are in critical conditions in a hospital in Moyo.” Col. Lam continued.
The SPLA(IO) holds National Dialogue Committee responsible for some of the death saying that some of the deceased were lured to return home from Uganda and now they died in controversial circumstances.
“This came as a result of the National Dialogue committee’s visit to the West Nile region of Uganda to convince the refugees to go back to their home in South Sudan claiming that there is peace.” Said the SPLA(IO) Deputy Spokesman.
“On Thursday, the committee sent four representatives; Bata Silvanos, Joyce Kiden, Jacob Kwansuk, Lopwat Francis and one elder by name Ben Yengi to go to Jale SPLA IG base to talk to Commander Camilo to allow safe passage to the refugees who would be going back home.” Said Col. Lam Paul Gabriel.
“This information was brought to the refugees and some took it seriously and decided to hire a Ugandan Boda boda to take them inside Kajo Keji leading to them being attacked by the government forces.” Lam further explained.
According to SPLA(IO) sources, members of SPLA carried out other massacres in Eastern and Western Mudri.
“Secondly, yesterday morning the government forces killed 15 civilians including five(5) women and three(3) children in Kedeba(Eastern Mundri) and in the evening they killed two church youth identified as Mr. Babi Gasim Arona and Munya Gyalingo Mana in Bari(Western Mundri).” Lam further explained.
“The SPLA IO condemns this atrocities committed by the government forces towards civilians. We are calling upon the Human Rights watch, the IGAD, the UN and the International Community to investigate these incidents and bring those responsible to justice. The government of Juba does not want peace to come to this country that’s why they are busy killing civilians.” He concludes.
Disturbing images of these incidents have flooded social media since yesterday but Nyamilepedia could not release them on grounds of viewers’ discretion.
At the time of this report, Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Kong, the spokesman of SPLA Juba faction was still organizing his intelligence from his colleagues on the ground.
According to Lul Ruai Kong, their position in “Mbori” of Amadi State was attached by the rebels, however, he believes that the rebels were repulsed.
“On 23/11/2017, our positions at Mbori were attacked but the attackers were repulsed. Details are yet to be received.” Brig. Gen. Lul Ruai Kong said.
