May 12th, 2018(Nyamilepedia) — Latest reports from South Sudan’s front lines confirmed that a number of high ranking SPLA generals from Warrap State have abandoned their positions and declared their defections to various armed opposition groups.

Maj. Gen. Bol Akot Bol Calls on President Kiir to Step Down

Among the leading generals, who have confirmed their defection is Major Gen. Bol Akot Bol, the former deputy commander of the Presidential Guards Unit also known as the Tiger Division

Maj. Gen. Akot, who served in Tiger Division for years, is from Dinka Warrap, the hometown of the president.

According to a declaration seen by the Nyamilepedia Press, Akot has been loyal to President Kiir for more than three decades; however, he claims that President Kiir has failed the country and he is being abandoned.

“First of all, president Salve Kiir Mayardit is not going to stay any longer in power because majority of his own Dinka are now turning against him in large numbers. So it is time for him to consider leaving office peacefully rather than being forced out to face the worst consequences” Read part of the generals’ declaration.

General Akot admits that he has no higher education, however,  he pledges that he “will never ever impose himself to lead South Sudanese people like President Kiir”.

Akot calls on Mr. Kiir to leave leadership to “someone that is capable, smart, academician and a leader who can unite the Nuers, Dinkas and all others tribes to reconcile the country.”

Brigadier General Manyang Riing Ariik Defects To Gen. Malong

Brig. Gen. Manyang Riing Ariik,  who is also from former Warrap State, has declared his loyalty to General Paul Malong.

According to the declaration submitted to Nyamilepedia, Gen. Malong has welcomed the new officers and assigned Brig. Gen. Manyang Riing Ariik to lead operations in Western Bhar el Ghazal.

“Brig. Gen. Manyang Riing Ariik believes that the dictator president has not only failed South Sudanese people and the nation but has also brought shame to the Dinka people” Read part of the statement.

“General Manyang Riing Ariik will soon be heading to Western Bahr El Ghazal to take over operation” the Declaration further adds.

According to our records, Brig. Gen. Manyang was previously assigned to command the new SPLA training camp at Mapel county of Wau State; however, he was later dismissed for unspecified reasons.

More Officers Defect and Declare Loyalty To SSUM and SPLM/A(IO).

Col. Bol Mawien Mayuol, who is also from former Warrap State, and a former bodyguard of General Anthony Bol Madut Bol during the SPLA liberation struggle, has defected and declared loyalty to Gen. Paul Malong Awan.

Col. Bol said he will carry out mobilization within the former Warrap regions and he will lead operations in Tonj, Gogrial and tiny Twic State.

Col. Mayuol claims that his forces have already arrived in Lol state where they will be stationed for now.

According to Col. Mayuol, President Salva Kiir was not suppose to lead South Sudan in the first place “because he had no history of successful mission[victories] since the late Chairman was alive.”

Col. Bol Mawien Mayuol claims that the reason many Dinka officers did not defect to Riek Machar was due to mistrust between the Nuer and the Dinka saying that the Nuer are too discriminative.

“Dr. Riek is a very good man but only his own people have very strange believes that scare away other none-Nuer people around them” Col. Bol said.

Captain Kuol Mayuol Kuol, a former SPLA finance officer[cashier] and also from former Warrap State, has defected and accused president Salva Kiir of failing the country saying that only his relatives and cohorts are refusing to acknowledge Kiir’s failures.

“the fact are there and no one will deny unless the relatives of president don’t want to accept but questioning the ability of president Kiir is no longer debatable.” Capt. Kuol Mayuol said.

“I am one of Bilpam Headquarter’s  finance officer  and we know that the SPLA always  take 7 Months unpaid period and later on the government will send only two Months payment and the families of the SPLA have been facing unbelievable situation this has to change by taking all steps to make sure the incapable president must returned to Akon Village in Gogrial State.” Said Capt. Kuol.

Captain Keen Keen Agui,  who is also from Warrap, has declared his defection and pledged to join Gen. Paul Malong.

Capt. Keen, who is a wounded veteran, has been receiving his pay through Disable Division, however, he thinks that their division was neglected as they go for almost a year without being paid any salary.

Keen has declared his loyalty to the former Chief of staff General Paul Malong Awan Anei to “fight against dictatorship regime.”

2nd Lt Ariik Kuol Yai Riing,  who believes that he is more educated than President Kiir, said he cannot join Gen. Malong because the former Chief of Staff is not educated.

“I will never support former Chief of staff General Paual Malong Awan because the big issue right now from Salve Kiir himself is lack of knowledge which contributed to poor leadership” Ariik said.

Ariik is yet to decide which rebel camp he will join but he thinks he will not support  Dr. Lam Akol and Dr. Majak D. Agoot.

Captain Akoon Ariik Mangar, the former police officer of Alabek County of Tonj State, has declared rebellion in Tonj State and pledged his loyalty to Dr. Riek Machat Teny.

Capt Akoon worked under Nasir Declaration in 1991 and was promoted by Dr. Machar.  To return what he calls “a good gesture”, Capt Akoon decided to join the SPLM/A(IO) under the leadership of the country’s former Vice President.

Asked of why he decided to join Dr. Machar instead of Gen. Malong, he said he doesn’t know Malong very well; however, he calls the former Chief of Staff[Malong] “an idiot like President Kiir”

“There are hundreds if not thousand people within Gogrial State who said they are willing to join any movement because they believe this president is lacking many things to turn the country around.” Said Mawien Mawien, the Press investigator.

“Also the none commission officers and others commission officers are very many but they do not supports one person nor one movement but they do choose based on what they knew about the leader.” Mawien continued.

This defection came a few days after a public outcry from intellectuals, specifically from Gogrial State such as Dr. Jok Madut Jok, who offered a bet to any Gogrial sons or daughters who can prove that President Kiir has not failed the country or may resolve one or two problems[crises] within the next one year.

“My bet is, i am convinced and have been convinced for years, that Kiir Mayar cannot solve one single issue among the million challenges we face today, and if Kiir remains in office for however long from now on, the country will never exit these current crises, not even by an inch. And If any of you can dispute this, bet against me; tell me if you think Kiir will solve any single problem between now and a year’s time, or two or three. I bet you that it will be the same failure and public suffering we have become accustomed to over the years. Should we remain with that level of mediocrity and suffering? Or should we, especially my family, Gogrial State, tell my cousin president he has come to a fork in the road: this country dies under his failed clan-inspired policies and he goes into history as the one who liberated us and then killed us; or go home with a legacy of a last hour savior of the country? The choice is his primarily, ours in Gogrial secondarily, and then of the rest of South Sudanese lastly.” Dr. Jok Madut wrote on social media page.

South Sudan can not be stable like any other countries in the world, simply, most of our citizens are more loyal to their tribes than the country. I have too observed that, South Sudanese leaders see the negative parts of the government only when they are out of the cabinet or government pay sheet. They became too blind when they are embraced into the system. I don’t trust them, because they are pursuing private interest not the public objective.
