Nov 1st, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— While South Sudanese Bishops are on a short peace visit to Rome, Italy, at the invitation of Pope Francis, a group of unknown gunmen, believed to be members of presidential guards, have stormed the Peace Center of Kit in South Sudan’s Rajaff county and committed many atrocities.

According to eyewitnesses, who spoke on condition of anonymity, 9 armed gunmen wearing “Republican Guards” uniform, storm the peace Center at 8pm on Saturday and ordered all priests and sisters at gunpoint to sleep on their stomachs facing the ground.

With zero resistance, the Center was empted and all computers among other valuables were looted by the gunmen:

“They threaten the priests, sisters and the workers in the centre under guns point. They were asked to laid down while they were being searched and looted. Fired shots on air. Salva Kiir militias looted computers, money and some documents.” The eyewitness said.

Although none of the priests and sisters was killed, the search and intimidation were thorough.

The good Samaritan said it is regrettably that the incident coincides with an important visit that may brings Papa Francis to South Sudan to pray for peace.

“The worst part of this is our bishops were in Rome meeting the Pope pleading with him to visit South Sudan and pray for peace. This reminds us of another Terrain Hotel incident in July 2016.” The eyewitness continued.

The residents strongly condemned harassment of innocent aid workers who came to rescue a suffering population in war-torn South Sudan.

“Our priest and sisters who comes from Europe, USA and Africa to help our suffering people were harassed, tortured and humiliated.” The eyewitness continued.

The attack on peace centre, if confirmed, and earlier attacks on Catholic Diocese in Lafon county and Juba is believe to be a setback to president Salva and his First Vice who claim to be Catholic.

“They were traumatized by Salva Kiir militias who claimed to be a true Catholic it is very shameful to our nation, but still the the terrorist government is saying they are in control of the country but still such things are happening with impunity.” said another eyewitness.

Like in Terrain Hotel, the army and national security delayed response to the rescue:

“up to now no police or security forces visited the site to see and rescue them. It is a tragedy. It is realy a failed state. Those thugs were commanded by SPLA soldier by name James ” Said the reports
