Gen. Tanginye was fighting forces of SPLA-IO under overall command of Lt. Gen. Johnson Olony, who resisted attempts by his tribesman, Dr. Lam Akol to persuade him to join his forces.

Gen. Gatwech, a Nuer national from Phow State, defected from SPLA-IO in july 2015 alongside other senior generals.

Gatwech, who has been suffering from diabetes went to seek medical assistance in Nairobi, Kenya, where Dr. Lam found him.

Dr. Lam defected from Salva Kiir government in July this year and managed to convince Lt. Gen. Tanginye and a few others to join his forces.

Lt. Gen. Gatwech Chan was killed today in Maganise West of Kaka, Northern Upper Nile.

According to latest reports from Kaka, SPLA-IO soldiers are currently pursuing Gen. Yohanes Okiech who fought alongside Tanginye in support of a recently formed rebel movement led by Dr. Lam Akol.

His death though saddened, his existent represents some of the worst kind of oppressions against Nuer Nation. The man is aiding a government who is basically denying his tribe’s mate the right to life and makes no stand against such evil.

Rip.No one face SPLA IO go unscathed.Death is the only prize that is about to be won by anyone who is against the movement. Fighting SPLA IO is easier said than done.Although it will cost all our lives,we wil never give up.

Is it true that Lam Akol forces are fighting Reik Marchar? This is unbelievable.
What does he want?
He accused Kir of killing the peace and should be fighting the government instead of Reik Marchar.
I can’t believe it.
