December 10th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition group Dr. Riek Machar Teny has arrived in South Sudan’s capital Juba long with deputy chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo who is also known as Hemeti.
The opposition leader is expected to hold talks with President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the number and boundaries of states which has been a thorny issue during the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.
Hemeti is for his part expected to attend the opening session of the Sudanese peace talks due for Tuesday, December 10th.
“Yes that is true, the Chairman and Commander-in-chief has arrived to Juba and he will meet with President Salva Kiir to discuss the pending issues,” an opposition official said from Juba this afternoon.
For his part, SPLM-IO director of information and public relations Puok Both Baluang told the Nyamilepedia from Juba that the main armed opposition leader arrived moments ago to Juba.
