Juba, South Sudan,
June 08, 2021 – President Salva Kiir has relieved Ruweng Chief Administrator off his duties in Republican Decree read on the broadcaster SSBC.
William Chol Awanlith was replaced by Peter Dau Chopkuer. Like any other decree, no reasons for the changes were given.
Mr. Chol was appointed in June 2020 and served for one year after replacing his predecessor Kuol Deim Kuol, who served from 2015 to June 2020.
A separate decree read simultaneously with the firing order of the chief administrator was about the replacement of a military director who has been assigned to another post.
The change came hours after two SSPDF officers exchanged gunfire at army HQ in Bilpam.
