April 5, 2021(Nyamilepedia) — His Grace, Archbishop Paulino Lukudu Loro, a renowned and outspoken Catholic Emeritus Archbishop of Juba has died, the archdiocese of Juba has confirmed.
According to the statement from the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, Archbishop Paulino Lukudu Loro died in a Kenyan hospital in Nairobi.
“I, your shepherd, by God’s will and design, bring to you the saddest news of my entire life-time: My predecessor and Father, His Grace Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro, a star that ceaselessly was shining over our church and nation for well over thirty years has this morning flickered out in the Kenyan capital city Nairobi.” Reads part of the statement from the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba.
“The tragic and saddest of all news will not affect only the church but in deed the wider community of our South Sudan society” The statement continued.
The Catholic Church has announced four days of mourning effective from today, Monday April 5, 2021.
The report has been confirmed by family members who reiterated that Archbishop Paulino felt last week and immediately developed high blood pressure for which he was rushed to Nairobi for better treatment in attempt to save his life; however, he didn’t make it.
