Jan 27th, 2018(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan’s warring President, General Salva Kiir Mayardit, has released a new series of presidential decrees that see former notorious rebel commander, Lt. Gen. David Yau Yau, and other army officials appointed governors of their respective states.

The decrees, which were read on the government owned channel, SSTV, last night relieved Lt. Gen. David Yau Yau from his post as  Deputy Minister of Labor and Public Service and appointed him the new governor of Boma state replacing governor Ismail Konyi.

According to observers, Gen. David Yau Yau has built friendships with Gen. Taban Deng Gai, the First Vice President, who has been numerously accused of planing a war to capture SPLM/A(IO) strongholds in Akobo and other parts of Bieh State.

Both Taban and Yau Yau have held private meetings and toured Jonglei State and ventured to government controlled areas in Bieh State and Ayod of Phou State within this month, a visit that led to intense fighting around Yuai and Ayod.

Gen. Taban was accused by the rebels of trying to force his ways to Akobo but failed due to intense resistance from the local populations, who are predominately Lou of Nuer ethnic groups.

The Lou-Nuer people are loyal to former Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny. They have resisted forced entry from both local government forces and foreign mercenaries, hired mostly from Uganda, for the last four years.

The rebel intelligence now claims that the controversial First Vice President, Taban Deng Gai, has found a new strategy to launch coordinated twin attacks through Jonglei and Boma states in order to penetrate to Akobo, and having Gen. David Yau Yau in Pibor could ease such a mission.

According to insiders, Gen. Taban is also lobbying to replace his sworn rival, Dr. Joseph Nguen Manytuel of Norther Lich State, and replace him with his right hand man, Brig. Gen. Bol Mayak.

In another presidential decree, General Salva Kiir also fired the Governor of Terekeka State, Juma Ali Malou, and appointed Augustino Lako Buli as the new governor.

He also sacked the Deputy Chairman of the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC), Paul Dhel Gum, who was appointed on the 27th of February last year.

In a separate statement, Paul Dhel Gum thanked the president for giving him an opportunity to serve the country and said that “I will remain a disciplined and good mannered citizen of this country and will continue to serve my country as a private citizen”.

Kiir appointed Santino Bol Mouterdit to replace Paul Dhel Gum.

In another decree, former political detainee Chol Tong Mayai was appointed a grade one ambassador in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with hopes to replace Telar Ring Deng, who recently resigned in Russia.

Kiir also replaced his Governor for Latjor state Gen Peter Gatkuoth Khor with Duer Chuol.

Stated as Republican Decree number 8, Kiir relieved the Governor of Eastern Lakes State Bor Wunchock Bor, and as per provision of the National constitution 2011165: b, his decrees come into effect on January 26th 2018 AD.

In his republican decree number 9 President Kiir appointed Gen. Magar Bong as the new governor of Eastern Lakes State

President Kiir also relieved Ambassador Telar Ring Deng at Foreign Affairs Ministry under article 5: 1, Diplomatic and Consular service Act, to come into effect as per signing on 26th of January 2018.

Amb. Telar has resigned yesterday, and he is expected to return back to Africa, however, his final destination is not yet known as he is being accused of trying to stage a new rebellion.
