July 1st 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Fierce fighting has erupted outside Kajo-Keji in the opposition-held part of the Central Equatoria state, several sources with knowledge told the Nyamilepedia this afternoon.
“The fighting is now ongoing and we could not understand who attacked who but here has been under the control of forces belonging to Dr. Riek Machar,” one resident said.
Another resident said the attacking troops were seen moving to the rebel-held town since the morning but the rebels have been trying to prevent them entering the city.

The SPLM-IO deputy military spokesman also confirmed, for his part, in a brief statement on his social media Facebook page, that the fighting erupted this afternoon after government troops allegedly attacked their defensive position.

“At about 2:25PM this afternoon, the regime’s forces left their base of Sokare and attacked the SPLA IO defensive position in Kendiri. The fight is still ongoing as the regime’s force is advancing towards Mangalatore,” the brief statement said.

The opposition said on Saturday that the government attacked them in four different front across the country just hours after the permanent ceasefire came in to force at a midnight schedule.
