Body of man accused of insulting Kiir last month found in Wau

June 5th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The body of a man accused of insulting President Salva Kiir last month has been found by family members according to a relative.

The young man was arrested by national security apparatuses after he reportedly referred to President Salva Kiir as a “bush man with no clue about running an ethnic diverse country like South Sudan.”

His arrest came days after several youths in the country called for a nation-wide protests against the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, a family member who identified himself as Sebit said the man was found near Girinti river yesterday.

“The body of our son we was arrested by national security in May has been found,” he said. “We have been looking for his whereabouts since his arrest without success.”
Sebit declined to comment on who is the perpetrator.
