Aweil Police Hunts Criminals After 4 People Stabbed in Aweil Town

June 8, 2016(Nyamilepedia) — Authorities in South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State  say  crimes increased nowadays following last week’s incident when certain gang unit assaulted four civilians in Aweil Town.

The authority said a police task force  was sent out to pursue the criminals.

Speaking to Nyamilepedia this Week, the Northern Bahr el Ghazal Police Chief, Major General, Elia Kosta, confirms the attacked saying that the attackers will be checked out as soon as police troops are deployed

The attack is believed to have occurred in Aweil Town late last weekend. Citizens in the area call for more police forces to be sent to maintain security.

No death reported in the assault but the victims were left with serious wounds. They have been admitted at Aweil State hospital.

Few weeks ago, the Aweil Town Mayor, Andrew Lual Buol, has narrated Town’s plan to screen out  any crime activities happening in the state.

Lual  confessed that the top Gang members have been arrested facing investigations at Aweil Police Custodies.

“ we working hard to fight any type of crime in the state, our security  organs have arrested  several niggers elements, we will not release them until they face court,” the Mayor says.

Joseph Thiik, a resident of Maper Akot, says the police is hunting those gangs, who attacked the victims and reiterates that some of them have been arrested.

“ the  police is hunting  for the niggers personnel who committed the crime of last week, police have arrested some and others and are still wanted by the police,’’ he explains the move to the press.

Maper Akot is the most populated city in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state. It was established back in 2008-2009 when hateful floods   swamped many residences that forced  the Government  of Northern Bahr el Ghazal to relocate the affected families in Western Part of Aweil Municipal Council to Maper Akot.
