According to reliable information received by Nyamilepedia, Eastern Equatoria State Governor, Louis Lobong, says the authorities have detained several people suspected to be behind the ambush in Kapoeta South county last week.

The authorities report that at least five people were killed in road ambushes by unknown gunmen last week.

Governor Lobong warns that his authority will interrogate the suspects and will continue to hunt down more culprits including the assailants responsible for the killing of two innocent nuns last week.

” The people of Eastern Equatoria are peaceful community and they don’t have enmity among themselves but it is some elements who wants to terrorize the area because of their personal gains due to economic hardships in the country”, Governor Lobong quoted by V.O.A to have said.

Road ambushes in South Sudan are on the rise especially in the Greater Equatoria region, which has forced Kenyan and Uganda truck drivers to close down due to fear of their lives.

While the government continue to accuse various rebel groups, the rebel groups are accusing the government and so far the suspects continue to terrorize civilians who are traveling from and to East Africa and border towns.
