August 5, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s presidential Press Secretary Ateny Wek Ateny has mocked the country’s security chief, General Akol Koor after reports that he was working to replace President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

This week, several media reports alleged that the intelligence chief came into disagreements with President Salva Kiir after the later ordered the closure of a private airport which he opened in June in a remote village ion Tonj North County.

There are reports that Akol was also prevented from leaving Juba International Airport this week, after trying to visit his Awul village where his private airport is located.

Speaking to the Australia-based SBS Dinka Radio this week, Ateny mocked General Akol saying should he be just dreaming to replace Kiir, he need to be woke up or he would woke up so he  do not fall asleep again.

“Akol Koor will not even dream. He can never dream of replacing President Kiir,” Ateny said.

“If he dreams of replacing President Kiir, he will get up so that he doesn’t fall asleep again and for such a dream to recur.”
