At least 56 people die in Sudan’s Northern State, COVID-19 suspected!

Oct 13, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — At least 56 people have died from high fever and bleeding in Northern State, Sudan in the past two weeks.

The Northern State’s Ministry of Health reported that 2000 more people are showing the same symptoms of what is suspected to be COVID-19.

In a press statement shared with the media yesterday, the ministry said that it is directly supervising the situation in 13 hospitals and 47 health centres in Ed Debba and Merowe localities.

Last Month, 10 people died of “fevers accompanied by bleeding and a decrease in blood platelets” leaving many others in critical condition.

The ministry said that it will organize awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of the disease

The ministry insisted on the need for people to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, including social distancing, washing of hands, and immediate reporting when any of the symptoms appear.

The country’s Covid cases stood at 13,685 cases on Saturday with 836 deaths.6, 764 people have recovered from the virus.
