Armed youth from Parieng kills 3 people in Tonja

August 5, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – At least three people have been killed and five others wounded when armed youth from Ruweng Administrative Area’s Parieng attacked villagers in Upper Nile state’s Tonja on Monday, according to officials in Tonja.

The attack, one official said on condition of anonymity, took place at Liri village 11 AM on Monday when traders working between Tonja and Liri were attacked at Liri by the armed youth from Parieng resulting in the killing of three people and wounding of five.

“There was an attack on Lira yesterday. The attack was carried out by armed criminals from Parieng county of Ruweng. They killed three people and five people are in a critical condition now,” the official told Nyamilepedia from Tonja on condition of anonymity.

The official said some goods have been stolen and calm has since returned to the village.
