Dec 19, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s special presidential advisor and one of the leaders of the First Sudanese Civil War, Joseph Lagu, and his wife Amna Lagu have tested positive to COVID-19 in the U.K. and admitted to a London Hospital.
According to family members, the veteran tested positive to COVID-19 and was rushed to hospital after showing unusual new symptoms on Thursday, December 17. His wife was admitted a day earlier, on December 16.
A statement released by the Lagu family shows that the two elders are having difficulties battling the virus but they are currently stable.
The family encourages relatives, friends and sympathizers to be strong, saying they are good fighters and will also go through this battle.
“Have no doubt Joseph Lagu is a fighter. He is the father of a nation. Amna Lagu is a formidable matriarch and a survivor. Their situation is currently being closely monitored by their loving children.” The statement continued.
