February 24, 2022—Another passenger Aeroplan crash-landed in Bor town according to local authority in Jonglei state.
The Cessna caravan suffered a burst tire and skidded-off the runway into a bush as it tried hard to land at Bor airport yesterday afternoon.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, all twelve passengers on board escaped unhurt.
“. All 12 passengers and two crew members who were onboard the aircraft escaped unhurt”, the statement reads.
According to the information received by Nyamilepedia, the Director of Bor airport, Kuot John Akech Akech confirms that the plane, operated by Air Services, was traveling from Uror to Juba via Bor.
He says all passengers continued their onward journeys by road.
The entire under carriage and propeller of the plane were completely damaged while the cockpit screen was shattered.
He also stressed that Bor airport remains open and operating as normal.
It’s the second time for plane to crash without causality since the beginning of the new year.
In early February a plane carrying examination papers of the Primary Eight students crash-landed in Abyei but all passengers on board and examination papers weren’t affected.
