Al-Bashir resigns, Sudanese Defense Minister takeover power

April 10th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Sudanese President,  Omar Al-Bashir, has reportedly accept to resign following months of protests that threatened to plug the country to a civil war.

Sources have said the Sudanese army has taken over from Al-Bashir who has been the president since coming to the leadership in a bloodless coup in June 1989.

Former Sudanese Vice President, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, former First Vice-President Bari Hassan Saleh among senior members of the ruling party has been detained.

Sudanese Defense Minister Awad Ibn Houf will now leader the country for an interim period.
