Nov 1, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) — In the last few months, the citizens of this country had a small breathe when Dr. Riek Machar, the chairperson of the SPLM/A IO, and other Opposition Parties joined President Salva Kiir Mayardit to implement peace agreement, despite economic crisis our people are facing in this country.

Nowadays, there are messages being released by opposition parties’ leaders at the Presidency level, blaming SPLM party and President Salva Kiir in particular Meanwhile, they are in the Government. It is something very strange to point at someone in the public and you are in one team. Even football players blames themselves in the dressing room after the game is over.

As an independent citizen, I advise the Presidency to address the following instead of blaming each other:-

Cattle rearing in the land of Equatoria

Equatorians have been complaining a lot about cattle movement in their areas destroying crops while we always advise them to produce enough food. H.E President Salva Kiir Mayardit clearly issued several decrees/orders and directives on this issue and non-had been implemented.

Land Grapping

The issue of land grabbing in which is not in Central Equatoria alone today. This has been turned to Wau town, Kuajok and other towns/areas within South Sudan. National Dialogue Committee is aware of these issues. Lives have been lost and building tribalism that will have no return.

The Jonglei Crisis

H. E President Salva Kiir formed a committee under the chairpersonship of Vice President H.E James Wanni Igga. There is no report of the further fighting now but I guess that maybe flood (water level) that has rapidly raised in Greater Jonglei might be helping situation. Worrying parties might be acquiring logistics also and step up again for killing and massive displacement.

The Committee headed by VP James Wanni Igga should be speed up and make sure that citizens of Greater Jonglei will not go back to the previous crisis/conflict after the dangerous flood that has displaced couples, left some homeless and hungry.  It will be so grateful to see the people of Greater Jonglei enjoying durable peace like some of their fellow communities.

My message to all the citizens of Greater Jonglei is to be unite and work for the achievement of peace in their communities. You can be in peace without the presence of Government because you are the peace loving communities in South Sudan since the very beginning of the liberation struggles up to now.

SPLM/A IO’s Daily basis Press Releases

Chairperson of SPLM/A IO, 1st Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny and his army’s  post holders (Generals) in SPLA/IO headquarters always issue Press releases on the media demanding/calling Dr. Riek to come to them for briefing. The tactics is to hear from their Chairperson whom they are saying has failed to arrest him and take over the automatically R -ACRSS collapsed. This issue should be addressed by the Presidency and advice Dr. Machar not to leave Juba if we want to maintain this part of peace we implemented.

During the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), I, as Deputy Chief of General Staff and other deputies of former SPLA, which is now renamed as SSPDF. We were the first people to come to Juba and go to Khartoum for joint Defense Board Mechanism meeting for security arrangements. What is wrong with Dr. Riek’s Chief of General staff?  Dr. Machar have to make a choice to let those generals come to Juba and join hands with SSPDF staffs (Bilpham) to implement security arrangements without delay.

We are not feeling at ease when we hear counter accusations against SPLM while we are in one Government. I personally have a strong believe that this R-ACRSS Government will not serve the people of South Sudan in this interim period. Because, every party leader will work hard to seize our resources to build his/her party or recruitment as it has now started in positions. What I consider should safe us is to implement this peace until the time for elections. Accusing SPLM is a counter productive and it will not take us anywhere.

SPLM/A IO Chief of General staff published Press release on 17 October and earlier last week demanding for weapons to arm, those trained in cantonment areas for their graduation.  If this is a fact, then SPLM/A IO has completely dishonored the peace agreement. It means that they made recruitment after peace agreement was signed. The SPLA IO forces should had been in cantonments areas with their armaments that they were fighting the Government/SSPDF.

The Presidency can solve the issue of cattle grazing, land grabbing and Jonglei crisis if they want to improve the economy for the better life of our people. They are destabilizing factors because those once are breaking our country into pieces if not addressed well.
