August 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudan rebel general loyal to the National Salvation Front led by Thomas Cirilo says he and other NAS officials decided to remove Thomas Cirilo on Saturday after accusing him of making impossible demands to derail the peace process.

Gen. Julius Tabule Daniel, the ex-commissioner of Kangapo County said in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia yesterday that he has removed Thomas Cirilo because the later is derailing the ongoing Khartoum-led peace efforts by making impossible demands.

“This is to inform the people of South Sudan that in lights of the derailment of the ongoing peace process by Thomas Cirilo, we the leadership of the National Salvation Front (NAS) announces that Gen. Thomas Cirilo has been removed and that Gen. Julius Tabule has been nominated as the interim Chairman of the movement,” the statement signed by Julius himself partly read.

The statement said the new general has been tasked by the movement to make whatever effort at its disposal to make sure that the movement sign the peace agreement with the government to end the suffering of the people.

“The movement therefore tasks the new Chairman to sign the agreement which has been put at risk of collapse by Cirilo so as to end the suffering of the South Sudanese people at large,” the statement further said.
